Espie and Hill have been providing dental care to Tranent and the surrounding area for more than 22 years. We pride ourselves in offering modern, caring dentistry to all the family, in a friendly and calm environment with an emphasis on a preventative approach.
Dr. Pradeep Chinta took over the practice in 2020 from duo Dr. Bill Espie and Dr. Shaun Hill, who were partners in the practice from 1989.
Dr. Pradeep Chinta

Pradeep is Principal Dentist and General Practice Trainer, qualified from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, India in 2004. Moved to UK and registered with GDC after finishing Overseas registration Exam. He has worked in general dental practice in Scotland and in India, gained vast experience. He has special interest in Restorative Dentistry & Dental Implants. Pursued MSc in Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry at University of Manchester, had done Ultimate Implant Year Course from SmileTube and currently placing Implants at the practice. Dr Chinta is trained Invisalign provider. Outside of Dentistry he enjoys playing Cricket and spending time with his family.
Dr. Bill Espie
BDS
Bill qualified as a dentist in Edinburgh in 1987. After a brief spell in England, began working in Tranent in 1988. He believes in dentistry in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and is committed to a preventive approach to dental care.
Dr. Peter Sergeant
BDS,DPDS,MFGDP(UK)RCS
Dr Sergeant trained and qualified as a Dental Surgeon at Birmingham University in 1981 before serving with HM Forces for 7 years. He worked in general practice in Plymouth for 13 years, completing Diploma courses with Bristol University and the Royal College of Surgeons.
Dr Sergeant moved with family to East Lothian where he have been providing dental care to the community for the past 22 years, so have extensive experience in most aspects of clinical dentistry.
Dr Sergeant take great satisfaction in helping people overcome their fears and phobias of having dental treatment.
